This film is a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. Ashford is set to return in 2023 and will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail, director and producer of Hamilton will direct the production. Ashford has most recently played Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the national crisis that swept into Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters in the country's first impeachment proceedings in over a century. Her two-season stint on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first major role. Also, she was a part of the hit series created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, with legendary actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her role as Essie. Her additional Broadway performances includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. She was born in Denver and grew up there.
